Gymnocalycium baldianum is a small, globular cactus native to the mountain regions of northwestern Argentina. It features dark green to bluish-green ribbed stems with short, curved spines and is especially valued for its abundant, showy flowers. In spring and early summer, it produces vivid red, pink, or deep magenta blooms that contrast beautifully against its compact body.
